Hi, I am the Alternative School teacher and this is my twelth year teaching at Lenoir City High.  Our class hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  We are a self contained classroom with our own computer lab and bathroom.  We have an open door policy in which parents may stop by anytime without advance notice.  We typically serve up to 12 students at a time, but in a pinch we have served as many as 17.  One of the biggest challenges of teaching in an Alternative School setting is dealing with the same students for six hours per day five days of the week.  It is also a challenge for the students, as they do not have the opportunity to interact with other teachers.
